Frequently asked questions
What does size “M” correspond to?
The international letter size (S, M, L…) groups several numbered sizes. For a woman, “M” usually maps to FR/EU 38, UK 10, US 6 and IT 42. For a man, “M” maps to FR/EU 48, UK/US 38 and IT 48.
Do women’s and men’s sizes follow the same logic?
No. Women’s sizes are numbered on one scale (34, 36, 38…) while men’s tops often follow chest measurement (46, 48, 50…). This tool separates the two to avoid confusion.
Why do my measurements matter more than the size?
Sizes vary a lot between brands. Knowing your chest, waist and hip measurements in centimetres is the most reliable way to choose: compare them to each brand’s own size guide.
Are FR and EU the same?
For clothing, the French size is in practice identical to the common European size (FR 38 = EU 38). Italy uses an offset numbering (IT 42 for the same garment), hence a dedicated column.
