Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from?
From Nager.Date, an open-source project (MIT licence, public code on GitHub) that compiles the official public holidays of 100+ countries. The API is free and needs no key.
Which countries are available?
Over a hundred. This tool offers a curated selection of the most-searched countries in a dropdown; each list is computed for the requested year, including movable feasts such as Easter.
Are regional holidays included?
The tool shows national public holidays. Some regional holidays exist in the database but are not observed everywhere; always confirm with an official local source.
Which years can I check?
Past and future years (roughly 1975 to 2075). Dates that depend on the calendar (Easter and related feasts) are computed automatically for the chosen year.
