Where do the artworks come from?
From the open API of the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the largest museums in the United States. Many works are CC0 (public domain). The API is free and key-free.
How do I search?
By artist, title or subject: “Monet”, “Van Gogh”, “cats”, “sunflowers”… The tool shows up to 12 works with an image, the title, the artist and the date.
Can I reuse the images?
Works in CC0 / public domain can be reused freely. Always check each work’s rights status on its museum page (link on every tile).
Is it privacy-friendly?
Only your search is sent to the museum API to fetch results. No account, no tracking and no personal data.
