Frequently asked questions
Which browsers are supported?
Speech recognition relies on the Web Speech API, well supported by Chrome and Edge (desktop and Android). On browsers without support, the tool says so clearly instead of failing silently.
Does dictation work offline?
Not always: depending on the browser and system, transcription may need to send audio to a recognition service. This is a browser API limitation, independent of this tool.
Why does the text change while I speak?
Recognition first shows a provisional (“interim”) result, refines it as it goes, then locks it as a final result. This is normal: the text stabilises when you pause.
How do I improve accuracy?
Speak clearly, at a steady pace, in a quiet environment, and pick the right language in the list. A good mic and no echo help transcription a lot.
