How is the estimate calculated?
Weeks = (current weight − target weight) ÷ weekly rate. The daily deficit uses ≈7,700 kcal per kg (3,500 kcal per lb): rate × 7,700 ÷ 7.
What rate is safe?
Generally, 0.5 to 1 kg per week is considered reasonable and sustainable. Faster is harder to maintain and less recommended. Consult a health professional.
Is it accurate?
It is a linear estimate. In reality, loss often slows over time and varies with metabolism, activity and diet. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee.
